Cave Hill Wins International Moot and award for Best Academic Institution

The University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus has emerged winner of the 15TH Annual Caribbean Court of Justice International Law Moot competition, which was held in Trinidad and Tobago from March 20-21.
The team of third-year law students, Deborah Bryan (Senior Counsel), Alala Moore (Junior Counsel), and Khyle Harrisingh (Researcher), outperformed the seven other participating teams in the competition, which tested participants’ knowledge of international and CARICOM law, focusing on the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas and the Caribbean Single Market and Economy.
Professor Canute Thompson Unveils ‘Reimaginative Leadership’ at The UWI

The hybrid event scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, will be held physically at The UWI Regional Headquarters in Jamaica starting at 4 PM. UWI Celebrates A New Innings: Dr Dodridge D. Miller Installed as 7th Chancellor

In a celebration that blended tradition with modernity, Dr the Most Honourable Dodridge D. Miller was installed as the 7th Chancellor on Saturday, March 15, 2025. The event marked "A New Innings" in the University's leadership history, welcoming Dr Miller, a distinguished UWI graduate with over 30 years of experience in banking, insurance, and financial services. The traditional ceremony is an important rite that signifies the conferment of authority and formally welcomes the Chancellor into the university system—a global tradition practised by many universities worldwide.
Cave Hill and BHL sign agreement for production of diabetes shakes

Researchers at The UWI Cave Hill Campus on Thursday took one step closer to making locally manufactured diabetes shakes available to the public.
The campus signed a licensing and distribution agreement with Barbados Dairy Industries Limited to facilitate the production of diabetes shakes, using indigenous Caribbean flavours.
The shakes were conceptualised by senior lecturer in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Dr Kim Quimby, and Public Health Doctoral candidate Eden Augustus, who noted that the prevalence of diabetes has doubled in Barbados between 2001 and 2021.
The UWI signs MOU with international NGO for Health Research and Innovation

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) has partnered with Health Development Partnership for Africa and the Caribbean (HeDPAC), an international non-profit organisation, which aims to address pressing health challenges through South-South partnership prioritizing human health workforce development, local manufacturing of health products, and the building of resilient health systems.
The UWI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in February with HeDPAC.
Under the agreement both parties will undertake a number of initiatives including joint advocacy to regional governments and non-governmental organisations to create and identify resources and scientific interests to address critical challenges and issues across the region.
