The 15th Annual University of West Indies Toronto Benefit Awards marked another successful year of fundraising supporting scholarships for Caribbean students on Saturday, April 20. Held at the elegant Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Toronto, Canada, and hosted by Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s Anchor, Dr. Dwight Drummond, the gala event was at capacity with 450 guests from executive-level businesses, public personalities, and community leaders. Together, they raised over $400,000 Canadian in one night.

Law Journal Makes Impactful Return

Caribbean Law Review, the flagship publication of the Faculty of Law at The UWI Cave Hill Campus, is back in circulation after a 15-year hiatus.
The biannual publication, renowned for its academic rigour, made an impactful re-emergence into legal realm discourse with its June special issue calling attention to noncommunicable diseases, one of the most significant health threats to Caribbean countries.
The UWI’s University Council appoints Dr Dodridge D. Miller as its 7th Chancellor

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) is pleased to announce that The Most Honourable Dodridge D. Miller, FB, FCCA, MBA, LL.M, LLD (Hon) has been appointed as its 7th Chancellor—the highest office-holder in The UWI system. Now formally Chancellor-Designate, Dr Miller is expected to serve a seven-year term beginning August 1, 2024. He will succeed Robert Bermudez who has served as Chancellor since 2017.
